Simply put MLM is multi leverage marketing. I never through I would be tooting the horn for this type of marketing much less entering the arena. Thinking I could and would not pitch most of the products to my circle of friends, relatives, and business associates, it never felt like an option. The over the top exuberance of what looked like a tent show on steroids made me shy away from ever attending a recruiting meeting.
What changed for me is seeing the industry grow up. I am watching some incredible companies develop some outstanding products. Coming from a health and wellness background the array of products being developed is nothing short of amazing. When the words organic, free from additives such as coloring and some preservatives are used I listen. At the same time I was meeting individuals who were giving me authentic testimonials in real time. They were not enlisting or selling, they were just telling their story. What was amazing is that I knew their family and friends who were telling it in the exact way. I knew that the results these individuals were getting were possible because of the ingredients in these products. Being familiar with the ingredients I knew they could have the ability to balance the body and allow it to heal. Knowing the people who had some profound results gave me food for thought. At the same time I saw that the health benefits from these products, I also saw the financial potential. The people who understood the enormous potential and financial rewards were marketing these products in a way that made sense. Today they are using the internet to promote the health benefits while avoiding the door to door selling. They are now knocking on virtual doors and establishing a rapport with people that would have been considered perfect strangers. Consumers today are contributing to a new and emerging market that is becoming a stable source of income and opportunity. In a world of digital media people are becoming accustomed to being courted and not pushed into buying. The new term performance marketing means it is the consumer who calls the shots. The consumer is empowered by the web through the vast amount of information and opinions that are broadcasted daily. That is why MLM in now operating as multi leverage marketing more than ever. I learned about the healing powers of some different plants that the pharmaceutical companies were trying to chemically reproduce. Though the years I watched the people who cultivated these plants try to form companies so the consumer could buy the nutritional products. Getting the word out and bringing in the funds to develop a whole line of nutritional substances is slow and cumbersome. When they were able to deliver enough products, they had to create a market. That is why the new companies are building multi leverage marketing companies as a way to reach the consumer. These companies are exceeding and overtaking the older MLM businesses. Where else can you get to use products and have other people pay for them and at the same time help others do the same.
